Garments assets are essential for the Dressing Room, they have to be added to your products in order to enable mix & matching of different products on an avatar.

How to add garment assets to your existing products

The above video uses “test” Garment Assets from the Resources page. Please download them in .zip file format. You can use them to practice uploading Garment Assets to your online shop (before uploading your own products).

If you’d like to skip the “test” and add your own products to your shop, please upload Input Pictures of your products to the PICTOFIT CMS. In the PICTOFIT CMS, our software transforms the ghost mannequin images into Garment Assets that can be used in the try-on experience. Please download the Garment Assets from the CMS in .zip file format.

Make sure to verify your account, otherwise you won’t be able to create your own Garment Assets

Once the Garment Assets have been downloaded, navigate to the Shopify admin space, and click PICTOFIT Virtual Try-On in the apps section.

Select the product to which you’d like to assign a Garment Asset. Now you should see an empty field that asks you to add files. Drag the .zip file you previously downloaded and drop it in the dashed upload area. Alternatively, you can click on add files and select the .zip file. Entering a label to the asset is possible, but only needed when adding several styling options to one product (see Garment Variations below ).

If you are using PICTOFIT’s “test” Garment Assets, you can assign them to any existing product.

Garment Variations

PICTOFIT’s virtual try-on allows your customers to style garments in different ways. This includes:

  • Opening and closing jackets

  • Rolling sleeves up and down

Note: Different colors are handeled as different products and not a variation.

Different styles of the same jacket.

For each style option, a separate request with a picture of the variation (e.g. open jacket) needs to be made in the CMS Creating a Request

Different input pictures for the different variation

Adding the Garment Variation Assets

Navigate to the Shopify admin space, and click PICTOFIT Virtual Try-On in the apps section.

Select the product to which you’d like to assign a Garment Variation Asset. You will see an empty field that asks you to Add Files. Below you should already see uploaded assets. Drag the additional Garment Asset into the empty field. Make sure to add a label that describes the Garment Variation (e.g. “open” or “closed”). This label will appear for the customer in the Dressing Room. The label can always be changed later.

That is it. Now your customers can style garments in different ways!
